Mrs. Leela Chandwani

Leela Chandwani joined Inner Wheel Club of
Hyderabad Central, Dist.315 during the very first year of club formation in 2004. Very next year she was given the responsibility of Joint Secretary and she proved her efficiency doing all secretarial work in the absence club secretary. She was elated to the post of Club secretary following year and since then her contribution to the club has been enormous. After her successful performance as club secretary and winning the best secretary award she was twice elected as club president.

Leela Chandwani worked as social worker at Government sponsored NGO namely family Planning Association of India. Her experience of 25 years at an NGO proved to be an asset to the club as her career was involved with the upliftment of vulnerable strata of Society. Her
contributions at both the levels as an volunteer at Family Planning. Association of India and at Inner Wheel had been Phenomenal
especially in the fields of mother & child welfare, polio elimination, immunisation, Cancer awareness, serving old age people, helping challenged children , Earth care etc.

During the tenure of her presidency both the times IWC Hyderabad Central received many awards and certificates and comparatively new club climbed to newer heights, got recognition and acquired a prominent placein district 315.

She extended her personalised service even after her presidency. Her exceptionally noteworthy contributions being putting up solar panels at an orphange namely Aman Vedika’ Rainbow home with the assistance from her family resulting in saving electricity charges forth Secondly during 2020-21 when the pandemic was at peak and all the educational institutions were closed, She started a school for slum children where 20 children were fruitfully occupied in dramatics, leadership development, indoor games along with their studies while generating employment for a poor teachers home and supporting environmental protection.
